☕️ CNCT Coffee Review: Quill & Crumb Café
In the Folger Shakespeare Library
With all the hype we’d seen from D.C. Instagram influencers, the CNCT team was very excited to try out the Quill & Crumb Café for a little study hall moment.
First things first, the Folger Shakespeare Museum is beautiful. Specifically, the room that Quill & Crumb resides in transports you to what feels like a small-scale Hogwarts. Who wouldn’t want to sip on coffee in a place like that?
Speaking of coffee... It was okay! We enjoyed seasonal and plain lattes, and were all satisfied, but not particularly thrilled.
Who was definitely not thrilled, though? Our founder, David, who said his scone tasted like cardboard and didn’t even go in for a second bite. Yikes. Choose your pastry wisely.
The café (and museum) is the perfect in-between meeting spot for the House and Senate; however, it’s not quite the perfect networking spot. When we went, there was a bit of commotion – such as a mom’s meet-up group and their small army of kids, museum wanderers, and an intermittent orchestral soundcheck over the speakers (?).
We recommend taking a trip to the Folger Shakespeare Library for it’s wonderful exhibits, not exactly for it’s networking coffee potential.
CNCT’s Ratings
Coffee: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (perfectly okay, try the almond sweetener)
Food: ⭐☆☆☆☆ (if you’re a fan of cardboard, have we got the scone for you)
Speed: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (also perfectly okay)
Ambiance: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (a beautiful café, but a bit chaotic when we went)
Accessibility from the Hill: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (great in-between for House and Senate)
Overall: 2.5/5 — Aside from the beautiful room it resides in, Quill & Crumb Café is really not that special.
