☕️ CNCT Coffee Review: Jacob’s Coffee House
401 8th Street NE
Buried deep in the Capitol Hill neighborhood is a bustling, yet cozy coffee house that’s hidden away from tourists and usual Hill traffic – Jacob’s Coffee House.
Jacob’s brings new meaning to the words “coffee house.” It’s a warm, welcoming, and inviting spot that blends seamlessly into the surrounding row homes. It has a lovely patio (that I’ll wait until spring to try out), nice decor, and a kind staff.
I ordered their Caramel Macchiato (which was more of a latte – Starbucks style) and an Egg & Cheese on Everything Bagel sandwich. The coffee was frothed to perfection and its flavors were sweet, yet subtle. It also gave me a great caffeine jolt that let me plow through some work.
The bagel sandwich is exactly what you want when you think of “coffee shop bagel sandwich”. Affordable, hearty, and absolutely delish.
Like I said, this spot is buried quite deep in the Capitol Hill neighborhood - so it might not be ideal for ‘working hours’ coffee meetings. If you’re taking a stroll on the weekends, looking to catch up with someone, or want a new neighborhood spot, Jacob’s is worth the trip.
