When I heard about the opening of Black Crown via Instagram, I was skeptical because coffee options on the Hill are lackluster. Although, the interior and espresso gadgets (Weber grinders, IYKYK) in their promo video gave me hope. I’ll start by saying I am huge coffee snob and still this place blew me out of the water. There were so many options for beans and brew and they take it very seriously.

If you’re someone who drinks coffee just to drink coffee, you’re not going to appreciate this place, so just go to Starbucks. But... if you love coffee, the tastes, and the process, this place is 100% for you. They even have “for here” glasses which really sealed the deal for me. The only downside is seating. There’s 4 seats, so be prepared to do laps if you’re doing a coffee meeting.

Overall: 5/5 — Finally Capitol Hill has a coffee shop for people who love coffee!
