The Next Phase Of UK Cyber Strategy

  • RUSI 61 Whitehall London, SW1A 2ET United Kingdom (map)

The UK government is expected to release a ‘refresh’ of its National Cyber Strategy in the spring of this year. The document, which will be called the National Cyber Action Plan, will see the light of day during a period when the UK’s ability to defend itself against cyber threats has increasingly come into question.

Over the last 12 months, RUSI’s Cyber and Tech research group has conducted a series of research interviews, workshops and roundtables on this next phase of UK cyber strategy. A forthcoming RUSI paper will make the case for an ambitious new approach to UK cyber strategy that focuses on rebalancing responsibility for cyber security, and on addressing persistent market failures.

To discuss the findings of the paper and the past, present and future of UK cyber strategy, RUSI is bringing together a panel of experts from the UK government, academia and the private sector.

The panel discussion will be followed by a reception.

The paper and event are supported by Palo Alto Networks.
