Goldsmiths Confucius Institute 2026 Chinese New Year Gala
Join us for a spectacular evening of celebration at the Goldsmiths Confucius Institute 2026 Chinese New Year Gala!
On Thursday 26th February, Goldsmiths Confucius Institute for Dance and Performance will host its annual Chinese New Year Celebrations in Richard Hoggart Building's Great Hall at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Through a carefully curated programme of gatherings, hands-on workshops, high-quality artistic performances, interactive activities, and shared dining, the Gala invites participants to engage deeply with the atmosphere, traditions, and cultural expressions of the Spring Festival.
This year’s Gala is inspired by the Year of the Horse, a symbol traditionally associated with vitality, momentum, and a forward-looking spirit. The Horse represents energy, independence, and new beginnings. The Fire Horse further combines these qualities with the element of fire, symbolising passion, creativity, confidence, and transformation—reflecting a year of renewed energy, bold expression, and positive change.
